COST :
My boxes can hold up to 2 birds. Boxes with pairs generally weigh around 5-6lbs and the dimensions are 18x12x8.
The cost for shipping is calculated on the USPS website using the weight, size of box, and distance the package is traveling. This means that shipping costs per pair generally range $55-110. I do charge $20 per box to cover the box and material (tape, zipties, bedding, food for the birds, etc).
That would make $135-190 the total base cost for 1 pair of 8 week old birds.
WEATHER :
The weather must be within a safe temperature range on both ends to ship (40°F - 75°F). No upcoming storms or potentially dangerous weather that could keep them in transit too long.
TIME :
I ONLY ship on Mondays, no exceptions.
I will not ship the week of a holiday or at all from Nov 1st - Jan 1st.
Unfortunately, even though live animals are shipped express and supposed to arrive within 2 days for the past year or so they have still been taking 3-4 days to arrive. Please keep this in mind. I do add A LOT of hydrating food to the box to hold them over, but that is all I can do.
PICKING UP :
1. When your bird(s) arrive you must pick them up within the hour. (I am notified when your birds arrive at your post office)
2. The box must be opened INSIDE the post office in front of the clerk.
3. A picture of the bird(s) must be sent to me immediately.
If any of these rules are not followed NO REFUNDS OR REPLACEMENTS will be given in the case of birds that arrive deceased. If these are followed you will be refunded for the cost of the deceased bird(s) only, no fees for living birds or shipping costs will be refunded.
POLICY :
I do NOT guarantee the eggs you purchase will develop or hatch, whether shipped or purchased locally. No refunds, replacements, or exchanges will be made once your eggs are shipped for any reason. Once they leave my possession there are too many variables to be able to make that guarantee, including how USPS handles them, how you handle them, how you store them, your incubator settings, how you choose to incubate them, and more.
I regularly check for fertility, collect eggs daily, and store them for no more than 3 days for best results.
Please understand that buying hatching eggs is a risk, shipped or not. This is especially true for call ducks as they can be very difficult to hatch. By purchasing eggs from me you are accepting that risk.
COST & SHIPPING :
Hatching eggs are $150 per assorted dozen (shipped or locally picked up). I do include a few extras when I can.
For shipping, eggs will be packaged in foam egg shippers in a medium flat rate USPS priority box.
